About The Restaurant
Offering the perfect balance of caffeine and calzone, this superb pizza & coffee bar in Crossmaglen, Newry, is a great place for a quick bite or indeed a meal with friends or family. Having initially opened their small and quirky Egg coffee shop back in 2017, it quickly became a big success and two years later they expanded their biz with the opening of their Nanny Hughes’ Pizzeria. Having refined and perfected both of their businesses, in 2023, they merged the two, rebranding as KIS, an acronym of their mantra for success – Keep It Simple! And, judging by the footfall to this warm and inviting space, the mantra is working.
The pizzas here are made using the freshest ingredients with hand-tossed crusts, baked to perfection in their authentic wood fired oven. You can expect all your favourites here, from pepperoni with San Marzano tomato and fior di latte, to a classic Hawaiian, which they’ve rather fittingly dubbed the ‘Porky Pineapple’. There’s a delicious Rocket Man pizza of Parma ham, rocket and goat’s cheese, plus an Italian Stallion featuring pepperoni, Nduja sausage and sweet drizzle of honey. If you prefer a BBQ base, check out their Smokey & The Bandit option with chicken, smoked pancetta and red onions, or if you’d rather go vegetarian, their No Meat Please comes with red onion, mushroom and mixed peppers.
Promising the perfect cup of coffee, their house blend is comprised of four different beans with two being sourced from Brazil, one from Guatemala and another from Mexico. They’ve also introduced a ‘guest coffee’ to the business, changing a few times per year, giving their patrons the opportunity to sample some of the finest coffees from around the world.
Fancy something sweet? Then check out their delicious selection of traybakes, all of which are homemade. From a huge selection of donuts, to brownies, cookies, cinnamon rolls, scones, croissants, protein balls and their decadent caramel squares, you’re sure to find something here to satiate your sweet tooth.
So, whether you’re looking for a snack and a cup of Joe, or a delicious slice of authentic artisan pizza, look no further than KIS Pizza & Coffee Bar in Crossmaglen.
