About The Hotel

For a fabulous 5 Star getaway, look no further than the stunning Sheen falls Lodge overlooking the Sheen River in Kenmare. Set on an enormous rugged 300 acre estate steeped in natural beauty, this gorgeous luxury hideaway is the perfect place to let all your troubles melt away.

From the moment you arrive at Sheen Falls, your spirit feels lifted, and certainly their excellent and highly attentive staff are a big part of that. However, the 2AA Rosette restaurant and luxurious plush suites help a lot too!

Given the surrounds, every room is a room with view, and all feature large windows to accommodate the scenery and draw in the light. Your room might be riverside, taking in the gentle babbling of Sheen Salls, or by the bayside with dramatic views out over Kenmare Bay. All of the rooms are chic yet cosy, but if you fancy a touch more opulence, the first step up is their deluxe rooms, averaging 440 square feet and beautifully decked out in gorgeous Irish furniture and furnishings. Kick things up another notch though and book a stay in one of their magnificent suites, featuring a separate private drawing room, and coming in at an impressive 800 square feet. There is a selection of different suites to choose from each with its own special vibe. (Check them out for yourself on their website).

If you’d prefer even more space and solitude, the luxury of Sheen Falls blended with self-catering facilities, they also have a selection of beautiful thatched luxury cottages and bayside villas on site. Some of you might be picturing a little bungalow when I say cottage, but think again. You’ll probably never want to leave once you’ve seen them.

For fitness fanatics, no 5 Star experience would be complete without a complete gym, a heated swimming pool and a Jacuzzi, and they won’t be disappointed. They also have bikes you can borrow to explore the various walks on the estate and morning yoga as well! If you’d rather be pampered instead though, check out their Easanna Wellness, offering a holistic experience that they say channels Kerry’s wild serenity. Featuring five treatment rooms and a team of experienced therapists and beauticians, you won’t know yourself afterwards.

The experience at Sheen Falls Lodge only gets brighter as you look to the dining end of things. The Falls Restaurant is an elegant uplifting space offering eclectic seasonal menus reflecting the best that Kerry has to offer. Enjoy a 5 Star meal with the gentle tinkling of the piano’s keys while the tumbling Falls fall just outside the windows. For a more casual bite, or just for a few drinks, head to their Stables Brasserie where they serve an inviting all day menu. If you enjoy the odd sip, the cosiest corner of Sheen Falls Lodge, they say, is The Sheen Bar which offers a truly extensive drinks menu, including terrific cocktails.

Frankly, I could spend all day talking about all the other things to see and do when staying at Sheen Falls, from picnics and archery to clay pigeon shooting, golf and falconry – there’s just so much! The hotel also owns the 18-hole Ring of Kerry Golf Club just five miles away.
The best thing to do is book a room and go see for yourself.
