About The Hotel
Galway is a city that is always alive and vibrant with any number of fabulous festivals from arts to food to film happening throughout the year - not to mention the famous Oyster festival which has been running since 1954. It's a city that's best enjoyed on foot so that you can totally enjoy all it has to offer so it's good to be near the centre of town. The Galmont Hotel fits the bill perfectly being only a short walk from Eyre Square, the heart of the city, but it's also beautifully positioned, on the shores of Lough Atalia and overlooking Galway Bay.
From the moment you arrive at The Galmont, you’ll find yourself immersed in luxury and spoiled for choice when it comes to facilities. The bedrooms at are modern and luxurious, and, with more than 250 ensuite berths ranging from their classic rooms to executive suites, and, with plenty in between, there’s sure to be a room that’s perfect for you.
A classic room at The Galmont features Eygptian cotton linens with hypo-allergenic duvets and pillows as well as blackout curtains, a work desk and an electronic safe. The rooms are fitted with 40” smart TVs with 60 channels, as well as complimentary wifi, mineral water and tea & coffee facilities. For a step up, their superior rooms feature a little extra luxury by way of individually controlled air conditioning. For a real treat, book one of their junior suites, and enjoy a spacious separate lounge and dining area, king size bedded room, kitchenette, and a Nespresso machine too. The TV is a little bigger, but the views of Lough Atalia are what really grab your focus. The executive rooms, located on the top floor, which is adults only, are simply fabulous. Spacious and beautiful, these ‘level 5’ rooms feature private terraces with views of the Lough or the city, as well as large bathrooms with separate walk-in showers and baths plus luxury bathroom amenities.
When it comes to dining, The Galmont has you well covered. For a fab dining experience in a stylish modern setting, check out Marinas Grill where the focus is on providing diners with the best of fresh local produce, expertly prepared and presented. Fishophiles will be delighted by the likes of seared organic Clare Island salmon or Clarenbridge's famous mussels, while for the meaty-minded, there’s striploins and ribeyes and fillet. Their build your own burger option has proved a hit as well.
However, if it’s a relaxed informal bite your after, with perhaps a glass of something tasty to wash it down, then check out their Coopers Bar & Lounge where their all day menu features casual options like housemade pizzas and specialty burgers, whilst an evening menu see lots of mouthwatering dishes being added to the mix.
If you’re like me, then a holiday isn’t a holiday without a little bit of pampering, and, at The Galmont, their Spirit One Spa is just the thing to breathe the life back into you. They offer a range of indulgent treatments like touch therapy or Elemis Biotec facials as well as massages, not to mention their stylish thermal suite.
If you’d rather be working up a sweat, then head over to their Energize Fitness and Leisure Centre, complete with an 18-metre indoor pool, children’s pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, outdoor hot tub and modern gymnasium.
The Galmont is located so close to Eyre Square, and all of the action and excitement of Galway City, but, the trouble is, why would you ever leave the hotel?
