Our Latest Great Place to Eat - The Monastery Inn

We spend a lot of time on the road travelling around the country and consequently always on the lookout for somewhere to stop and have a bite to eat. This was how we discovered the atmospheric Monastery Inn, a thriving local pub and restaurant, offering good food for all the family at good prices in Clonard, Co. Meath.
There is an extensive menu with something for everybody, and a daily selection of chef’s specials on top of that. Starters include breast of Cajun chicken on a bed of mixed leaves with an apple & curry mayonnaise; crispy beer battered mushrooms stuffed with cheese, served with salad and garlic mayonnaise; golden fried Brie served with salad and redcurrant relish; BBQ pork ribs and homemade seafoood chowder; and the alltime favourite dish of breaded scampi served with salad & tartare sauce - which you can also have as a main course.
