Restaurant Review - Pick of the Brunch
Tuesday 29 October 2024
Any time I’m at brunch, watching girly groups play catch-up, I’m always struck by what a joyous affair it is. That same feeling came upon me as I followed a group of girls filing into Koda, a dinky new addition to the SoCoDu neighbourhood of Deansgrange. Seating about 18/20, plus an outside space to the front, it’s owned by Paul Foley and Brian Walsh, who also have the Pigeon House in Delgany and the newer Caladh in Greystones, Co Wicklow.
As we settled into a full house with nobody yet eating, I said to my son Ian that this reminded me of the TV show Four in a Bed, with the poor chef under pressure to produce dishes for all of these tables tout de suite. However, as plates rapidly began appearing, frankly they all looked ace.
