The down-homesy moniker and restrained French brasserie-style exterior belies the exuberant Dubai-esque party decor that awaits at Old Fashioned Sam’s (OFS). Having opened, in part, just before Christmas on Montague Street, which links Camden and Harcourt Streets, this cut-through laneway with an ever expanding restaurant scene has become a hip spot.
Boasting a sports/cocktail bar, a subterranean speakeasy, plus “Dublin’s largest heated courtyard”, OFS’s final element, Laura’s was about to drop when I received the ubiquitous press release and invite “for a meal and/or night out with pals” — I don’t accept invitations!
