With more than 18 years of cheffing experience behind him, Tabrez has previously worked at some of Ireland’s top hotels, such as The Radisson Blue Hotel & Spa, The Montenotte, JW Marriot, Breaffy House Resort etc. Now though, as the captain of his own ship, he is using his passion for world cuisines to impress all that arrive to his counter.
The menus here, are simple and to the point, with Stews and Curries being the main attraction. On a visit to The Stew Store, you can expect the menu to feature classic favourites such as Chicken Tikka Masalas and Prawn Vindaloos with rice, or perhaps a flavoursome Prawn Laksa. For the veggies among you, a tasty Vegetable Jalfarezi with rice is sure to make a good impression. Want to try something a little different? Then check out the Beef Bunny Chow, an authentic South African street food comprising a tasty beef curry dish served in a half loaf of hollowed bread, perfect for mopping up all those delicious flavours.
If stew is more your thing, you won’t be disappointed by a hearty Beef Stew served with buttery mash, or indeed a decadent beef bourguignon, slow cooked in a red wine sauce with onions, button mushrooms, bacon lardons, onions, garlic and more. Delish!
They also serve great Dosa & Sambar dishes here, Dosa being a crispy crepe like street food popular in India. Filled with delightful offerings like Madras Chicken Masala, with veg versions being offered as well, they’re sure to go down a treat. Sambar on the other hand tends to be somewhere between curry, stew and soup, and is traditionally a vegetarian lentil-based dish.
Another treat that you won’t see in too many places are their superb potato doughnuts, with varieties such as Parmesan & Basil with truffle mayo or Zattar & 7 spice with Harissa mayo.
