We may think our Christmas and New Year season goes on a bit but we’re only trotting after the Chinese whose upcoming Lunar New Year celebrations encompass a full two weeks of culture, customs and cuisine that make our turkey, ham and plum pud feast look like the poor relation.
With its dates changing based on the cycles of the moon, celebrations — seeing in the Year of the Wood Snake — traditionally culminate with the Lantern Festival on February 12.
