About The Hotel

Every November I look forward to an Invitation from my Horsey friends to The Hunt Ball in Adare. Whilst a night of Tallyho with The Equine Fraternity of Limerick has its own special appeal, the real appeal for His Nibs and myself is to escape to Irelands prettiest village and stay in The Dunraven Arms, which never disappoints. This year was no exception and, even though it was a bleak mid winter day when we descended on Adare, the village looked stunning with its many thatched cottages, up market restaurants, funky art galleries, and serious Antique Shops. The Dunraven Arms with its richly painted walls and limestone trims stands out like a beacon of light and welcome in Adare Built in 1792, The Dunraven Arms is wonderfully stylish and one is always assured of a warm welcome, as well as all the advantages of modern creature comforts and modern technology. There is complimentary WIFI access throughout the hotel which is brilliant nowadays. We arrived in the early afternoon in time for a swim in the leisure centre and for me a facial. Our rooms were beautifully furnished and filled with every creature comfort, Bliss. Suites and Junior Suites are superb with ample seating areas and dressing rooms. I have had many an encounter with shoddy service delivered by souls that possess what I call “The After the Party Look”, not so in Dunraven Arms. There was an abundance of extremely well groomed, well trained and very helpful staff to cater to our every whim. On the morning after, when we trundled down to breakfast, many of us bearing the aforementioned “After The Party Look” there was a feast of freshly squeezed juices of all types, platters of fruit, bowls of cereals, steaming hot silver pots of tea, and lovely breads but, best of all, hidden under a silver dome was the most delicious baked ham which is their Sunday morning speciality. From all my friends who have stayed in the Dunraven Arms I have never heard anything but high praise and, I can guarantee you that I would walk barefoot on broken glass back to The Dunraven Arms just for a sliver of that honey baked ham. The food is wonderful, the service is excellent, and the location is stunning. Golly gosh old boy, an all round corker!
