About The Restaurant
With gorgeous views over Annagry bay on the Wild Atlantic Way, and a relaxed contemporary atmosphere from which to enjoy them, a meal at Zita’s at the Caisleáin Óir Hotel in Co. Donegal, is not to be missed.
Besides from their interesting and varied wine menus, with plenty by the glass, they have a fab selection of premium spirits and cocktails from which to choose. So, grab yourself a strawberry daiquiri or a ‘Wild Atlantic Wave’ to sip as you take in the nautical views along with the menus.
Starters at Zita’s typically include the likes of salt & chilli chicken wings with a dry rub seasoning; golden crumb brie served with a red wine cranberry compote; or a simple fresh chilled melon cocktail. Given its locale on the Wild Atlantic Way, it’s no surprise that the seafood here is of a very high calibre, so if you’re stopping in for a bite, I recommend starting with the fresh local crab claws tossed in garlic butter and served with Cil Ulta leaves, or their signature homemade seafood chowder with a thermidor base and a side of homemade brown bread.
The fab fishy tide continues to bring in impressive poisson when it comes time for the mains with delicious battered scampi served with homemade tartare sauce and a side of your choice; natural smoked haddock on a bed of champ with a lemon and white wine butter sauce.
It’s not all about fish here though. The beast within will be thoroughly satisfied by the butcher’s block menu here with brilliant burgers, succulent steaks and some of the best surf and turf going. They also have a great selection of poultry dishes from goujons to curries to a crispy half roast duck with cous cous.
The veg heads don’t have to forage for themselves here with options like stir fries, veg curries or bbq pulled jackfruit on ciabatta.
Finish things off with some homemade baked Alaska or a toffee & honeycomb ice-cream sundae and then you can get back to the cocktail menu and order up a couple of espresso martinis to put a cap on a great meal.
The restaurant is also available for private parties and events catering for up to 40 guests.
