About The Restaurant
The city of Galway is famous as a hub for visitors of all kinds, with thousands flocking to the city of tribes every year. Whether they’ve come for a relaxing retail getaway, an oudoorsy adventure holiday or for one of the many popular festivals native to the town, they all have to eat, and so good is the city’s reputation that they all expect to eat well. At the Gaslight Brasserie, they certainly won’t be dissapointed.
Part of the fabulous Meyrick Hotel, which stands proudly and prominantly over Eyre Square and has done since 1852, the Gaslight is the place to be if you really want to feel special. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is warm and welcoming but spacious and grand with plush furnishings and great big windows opening up the place.
Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, the focus here is on fab fresh contemporary Irish dining dining, using only the finest seasonal ingredients to prepare dishes that are fresh and nutritious, but also skillfully and inventively crafted. It also offers an extensive wine & cocktail menu to peruse.
On an evening visit, think starters like braised short rib with a celeriac remoulade, and a soy and sesame glaze; crispy chicken wings with in-house bbq sauce; or maybe seafood chowder with treacle & Guinness brown bread.
Mains feature the likes of Teriyaki salmon with pearl cous cous; beer battered fish & chips; or pan-roasted chicken with smoked garlic mash, tenderstem brocoli, confit carrot and a pearl onion jus. They have a tasty 10oz rib-eye served with handcut chips as well as an excellent selection of burgers to choose from.
With a beautiful restaurant and a menu packed with great choices, you can't go wrong. Go see for yourself!
