About The Hotel
Located in the stunningly picturesque village of Waterville, Co. Kerry, Bart and Marie O'Sullivan's aptly named Seaclusion is perfect for anyone looking to escape the stressful city vibes in favour of the conflicting calm of the crashing waves that surround this gorgeous getaway.
The only seafront village on the famous Ring of Kerry, Waterville has a long history of hospitality with wide eyed wanderers including, back in the day, the legendary movie star Charlie Chaplin and his large family, coming from near and far to enjoy its stunning natural beauty.
Let me tell you post haste that your host here, Bart, is a tremendous chef, whom I first encountered some twenty years ago, and he and Marie are absolute professionals who 'do things right'. Having spent three decades working as a chef both here and abroad in a host of four and five star establishments, including The Westbury Hotel in Dublin, Turim Hotel in Switzerland, and, most recently, The Sealodge Hotel in Waterville, they launched Seaclusion Luxury Guest Accommodation back in 2019.
Seaclusion has a variety of modern boutique style en-suite guestrooms which are spacious and airy in keeping with the natural surrounds. All of the usual amenities you would expect from a high end establishment are there from tea/coffee making facilities, to WiFi, to flat screen TVs. The bathrooms feature power rain showers as well as a hairdryer, luxury toiletries and fluffy white towels.
Offering an extensive breakfast each morning using locally sourced produce, hot options include a hefty traditional Irish breakfast, freshly made pancakes with a choice of lemon, Nutella, or maple syrup, not two mention a tasty three egg omelet with ham, cheese and onion. There's French toast also with brioche bread, cinnmon sugar, fruit compote and maple syrup, not to mention a dish of scrambled egg with oak smoked salmon.
When it comes to wining and dining throughout the day and night in Waterville, the world is your oyster with a great variety of restaurants and pubs to check out, as well as some excellent casual cafes as well.
Avid golfers will be licking their lips as they roll into town, with two world-class golf courses to choose from – Waterville Golf Links and Hogs Head Golf Club, and, with the ocean practically on your doorstep, be sure to pack your fishing rods and tackle box, if you’re so inclined. Depending on the time of year both sea trout and salmon fishing are the popular catch in Waterville.
For travellers looking to get away from it all, there couldn’t be a more perfect base, with a plethora of idyllic rural spots to explore nearby, not to mention the stunning ocean views that the hotel itself offers. Enjoy long picturesque walks on the beach followed by a cocktail and some craic at one of the town’s music filled pubs. Head out and explore the Ring of Kerry and make sure you don’t miss the magnificent Skellig Michael which featured in the Star Wars films.
If you enjoy beautiful, relaxing spots with lots to see, eat and do, then Seaclusion in Waterville should definitely be on your map.
