As expected, the décor is really cool with a kind of relaxed classy feel enhanced by high sheen polished wooden floors, plush comfortable furnishings and a very inviting bar. The walls are filled with bookcases containing all sorts of brightly coloured spines offsetting the industrial chic grey colours that span the room.

When I was there, starters included farmhouse goat’s cheese spring rolls with baby leaves and a raspberry reduction; seafood chowder with fresh cod, salmon & mussels in a creamy dill broth; and also crispy chicken wings in hot or extra hot house sauce with Cashel blue aioli. I opted for their homemade beef Carpaccio with Parmesan shavings and celeriac remoulade, which was absolutely delicious, whilst himself (who likes things to be a bit spicy) went for the tiger prawns pil-pil served on a sizzling pan with chargrilled sourdough.
