Our Latest Great Place To Eat - Holland's
Tuesday 21 January 2014
Founded by Sylvester Holland in 1969 and still operated by the Holland family today, Holland’s began as a small local pub, but has been expanded frequently throughout the years providing todays customers with a spacious and welcoming environment in which to relax and unwind. Some eight years ago they also opened an attached off licence, stocking over 700 wines, 300 craft beers and a large choice of niche spirits as well as all your regular brands. It has quickly become a multi award winner racking up six “Leinster Off Licence of the Year” awards in a row. They’ve also shifted their focus when it comes to food. Not satisfied with being simply a pub that does bar food, Hollands have upped their game now providing diners with delicious dishes comprised of ingredients that are natural, organic and locally sourced. Head Chef Simon Boland believes in serving up all natural ingredients that are pure, fresh and flavourful; and really cares about every step involved in the preperation of the food placed in front of his customers.

My dining companion went for the smoked fish slider which was a tasty looking homemade mini smoked fish burger with dill and fennel mayonnaise. I on the other hand opted for Holland’s traditional chowder which was a delicious blend of smoked haddock, cod and salmon served with homemade brown bread.
