The West has certainly come awake when in comes to food in the past few years, what with gourmet food trails, farmer’s markets and foodie events. The busy town of Ballina is a real destination in itself for a great weekend as it is also blessed with some really good hotels. I always think that a couple of really good restaurants and gastropubs add greatly to a town and its ambiance, and this is where Brennan’s Lane Bar & Restaurant comes into its own.
Keith and Siobhan Brennan are really on the nose of how people like to dine out and enjoy themselves nowadays. They know what good food is and they have really put Brennan's Lane on the foodie map, as well as it being a great contemporary pub and nightclub. Their Chefs, David Gouman and Jonathan Reeves are accomplished and know what they are about in the delivery and execution of some very fine dishes focusing on fresh, local and seasonal produce. They also have a very large range of Gluten Free and vegetarian offerings – which always pleases me personally. They are very au fait with the times and customer needs.
