Enjoy A Journey Across India this October Bank Holiday Weekend!
As part of the Savour Kilkenny Food Festival, Royal Spice Indian restaurant will be treating its guests to an extensive five-course "Taste of India" dinner
Kilkenny's Royal Spice restaurant will take diners on a tantalising journey across India during the Savour Kilkenny Food Festival this October Bank Holiday Weekend, with a special five-course menu served in a stylish, contemporary setting as part of the festival's Foodlover’s Trail.
“At Royal Spice our main goal is to bring authentic Indian cuisine to Ireland. Savour Kilkenny allows us to be even more adventurous with our cooking and dig deeper into the Indian flavours,” says head chef Nuran Ahmed.
Local produce is at the heart of the chef's signature dishes and he enjoys the challenge of giving this local twist to his dishes. Goatsbridge smoked trout presented in an oriental fashion and Highbank Apple Syrup as accompaniment to traditional Indian desserts are just a few of the locally sourced ingredients that can be found on the Royal Spice menu.
“As much as we enjoy brining authentic Indian flavours to our guests, we do our best to make sure our produce is sourced locally and sustainably, using local artisan suppliers wherever possible. We work with Goatsbridge Farm and our free-range chicken comes from Mary Walsh’s farm only few miles away from Kilkenny, just to give an example,” says Syed Ahmed, the restaurant's owner and manager.
Royal Spice, located on Patrick Street in the heart of Kilkenny City, is renown for fine-quality Indian food in a contemporary setting. Since opening in 2009 it has earned the reputation of a true destination for those looking for authentic Indian flavours the South East of Ireland. The "Taste of India" five-course menu will be available at €35 per person throughout the Savour Kilkenny Food Festival weekend from October 26-29. Booking is essential. Tel: 056 771 2646 .
