Our Latest Great Place to Eat - The Chop House
Thursday 01 December 2011
Kevin Arundel has created his own mix of France and a Chelsea Gastropub at his Chop House at a D4 crossroads that his become a very hip place to wine and dine. He has an undoubted eye for the latest trend. Originally a chef at the Michelin starred restaurant Arundel then had a couple of other restaurants before in January 2010 turning a former somewhat run down pub into a really cool gastropub. Located on the busy five branch junction which includes Shelbourne Road and Bath Avenue, it is within a spit of Ballsbridge central, Sandymount, and the Aviva Stadium. The interior was given a fashionable muted ‘Farrow & Ball’ treatment of French Grey, along with stripped floors, leather sofas, black cast iron high tables, and a conservatory area to the front. There is always an interesting clientele with a few Kate Middleton lookalikes hanging out and looking cool.
