Our Latest Great Place To Eat - Eathos
Wednesday 08 May 2024
Open from early in the morning through lunchtime Monday-Friday and on Saturday at their location at 49 Lower Baggot Street, expect a fab array of savoury and sweet dishes to savour over a flavoursome cup of high end coffee.
Their breakfast menu includes divine pulled pork croquettes with apple and onion marmalade, spinach, poached egg and brisket Hollandaise; Gubeen chorizo scrambled eggs with avocado smash, pickled red chilli, tomato, nigella seeds and turmeric served on sourdough; or perhaps their Eathos style full Irish with Inch House black pudding (which I love), poached eggs, Crowe's streaky bacon, sausage, sweet potato cake, roasted tomato, mushroom and sourdough toast. There’s buckwheat pancakes, seasonal porridge, not to mention an Acai smoothie bowl that is simply delicious. So, if you want to start your day on a high note, this is the place for you.
At lunchtime, there’s also plenty to choose from with a mouthwatering menu of dishes served cold divided under the headings proteins and salads with various intertwining price combos. Their ‘proteins’ consist of things such as turkey and courgette kofta with cranberry and pomegranate jam; Char sui salmon with rice vinegar, lime leaves and chilli; Harissa and honey charred chicken as well as an Eathos veggie option (changing weekly), whilst their salads consist of interesting eclectic tasty options like spiced peanut and cabbage slaw; barley and feta crumble with baby spinach, tomato, grilled peppers, paprika roasted sunflower kernels, parsley and lemon dressing; as well as green bean miso with tamari soy, chilli, sesame seed and peanut. Besides the proteins and salads they do a great Howth Harbour seafood chowder with Guinness and treacle bread as well as a regularly changing soup of the day. Bridging the gap, their 'all day' brunch menu with a great selection of sides is served until 2.30pm daily.
