Our Latest Great Place To Eat - Haldi By Manish
Friday 05 January 2024
Established and run by husband and wife duo Manish and Priyanka Sharma, the pair have an excellent culinary pedigree having previously worked at 5 star hotels all over India, from Goa to Jaipur, not to mention a stint for Manish at one of Ireland’s best Indian restaurants, Rasam in SoCoDu, where I first him.
At Haldi, they promise patrons a menu of regally prepared dishes suitable for a true foodie. Appetisers include all the regular faves like onion bhaji, vegetable samosa chaat and aloo tikka chaat. There’s vegetable pakora, a selection of golden-fried gram-flour-coated seasonal veg, spiced with coriander seeds and cumin, not to mention their superb Haldi special meat platter of chicken tikka, sheek kebab, tiger prawn and tandoori chicken. The paneer chatpata is a cheesy delight, the cottage fromage being marinated in tangy spices, sautéed with bell peppers and onions.
For the mains, there’s plenty to choose from with great clay oven dishes like murgh tikka, tandoori jhinga or whole tandoori seabass marinated with green chilli, coconut, coriander, turmeric and kokum paste, finished with lemon juice and served with a side of Bombay aloo and salad. All clay oven dishes also come with tasty masala chips.
