Our Latest Great Place To Eat - Yang's Chinese Restaurant
Thursday 28 September 2023
Set in the former premises of Wongs Chinese on the Clontarf Road, just a stone’s throw from St. Anne’s Park, the space was completely renovated under its new management. Open seven days a week, all of their food is freshly prepared, cooked to order and guaranteed MSG free.
The menu at Yang’s is extensive with appetizers including all the usual favourites like BBQ spare ribs, spring rolls, deep fried won ton, salt & chili calamari and the de rigeur half aromatic duck with steamed pancakes and fresh veg. They also have traditional ‘sung’ dishes served in lettuce leaf cups, for two or more, available with meat, seafood or veg, as well some delicious ‘Waltip’ pan-fried chicken dumplings. They also offer a pleasant assortment of soups to choose from such as crabmeat and sweetcorn or chicken noodle.
For the mains, there’s so much to choose from that I could spend all day trying to describe it all. All the popular stalwarts are there from Kung Po to Szechuan to Cantonese to sweet & sour etc, all available with your choice of meat, seafood, veg or a little of everything. However, the menus at Yang’s go so much further. Each meat also has its own menu of more interesting individual dishes. To give you an idea, you could have Thai garlic and chili sliced chicken breast cooked in their chef’s special Thai style hot sauce, or maybe a diced Irish beef sirloin cooked with Jiong Bao hoi sin sauce. There’s their ‘Double Tasty – Ying Yang’ dish sliced lamb and roast pork, or a tempting ‘Double-fired’ pork dish cooked with white cabbage, pepper, onion and Chu Hou hot bean sauce.
