Restaurant Review - Cavistons
Wednesday 09 November 2022
While it may have taken Cavistons of Glasthule, Co Dublin, 25 years to launch its second restaurant, it was well worth the wait. Unveiling itself recently, just a few doors up from the mothership, this stylish new brasserie has had the locals hopping with excitement.
Cavistons Food Emporium started out as a small fish shop, bought in 1948 for £300 by Jim Caviston, a medical student, after a night’s drinking in the pub across the road. Endeavouring to stop the cheque the next morning, he found it had been cashed. In the 1950s, he passed it to his brother John, John’s wife Margaret and their family.
