Restaurant Review - La Maison

Summers come, summers go, and August is a wicked month, to quote the title of the famous novel by Edna O’Brien. It’s a time when people abandon the cities and head south for the sun and fun, as did O’Brien’s heroine Ellen on the French Riviera back in the mid-1960s.
Our summers over the past couple of years have been more ‘lockdowns come, lockdowns go’, with a scramble to staycation hotspots in the brief interludes that allowed people to explore our gorgeous island. The summer of 2022 will be more likely remembered for the airport scrambles and lost luggage that ensued.
